Are you talking in general or during and after a workout. Both are diet issues, but have different answers.
Your diet can have a LOT to do with your energy levels..
Though I'm not the one to critique your diet...I'll jump in here and ask what your diet looks like. I'll let the experts in here chime in once you post some info on you diet.
Energy has many components. Nutrition is the starting place to begin feeling more energetic.
Here's an article by Bill Phillips, originally published in Muscle Media Magazine, that covers the topic with clarity.

ENERGY: It’s Everything
By Bill Phillips
“Energy is everything, and everything is energy.” A wise friend shared this idea with me several years ago. And to be quite candid, I didn’t really get it. Not at first. But over time, and after a considerable amount of contemplation, I began to see the bigger picture – that everything is energy … motions, emotions, actions, reactions … each has energy. And that energy is everywhere, literally.
Despite popular belief, each and every one of us has access to all the energy we could ever want or need. So why do so many people feel low energy so often? Well, my experience has been that most people simply don’t understand the basic sources of energy and how to work with them. The way I see it, there are four primary types of energy that affect our daily experience of life. Becoming aware of these types of energy and developing a strategy for how to nurture each type is vitally important for living a healthy, inspired, purposeful and fun life.
Interested in learning more? If so, read on and I will share some important information with you which has allowed me to strengthen my Energy-for-LIFE.
The four primary types of energy are…
PHYSICAL ENERGY:
By this, I mean the body—the muscles, bones and the trillions of cells that make up our physical form. Through a healthy body, more energy flows. And that’s why being physically fit is such an important part of feeling energetic, strong and capable. Think of it this way—taking care of the “mechanics” of your body is somewhat like taking care of a sports car (although it is much, much more important to take care of your body than it is a car!). When things get out of tune or out of alignment, repairs need to be made, otherwise its performance potential (energy) drops. Proper use is also important. Anything that’s abused and not properly cared for will deteriorate, and its ability to perform will decline.
Make no mistake, caring for your body with daily exercise, sufficient rest and relaxation, and not abusing it is the foundation of your Energy-for-LIFE.
NUTRITIONAL ENERGY:
Scientists often call food “chemical energy” in that it provides the fuel needed for chemical reactions to occur within the body. These reactions produce the “usable fuel” that’s required to flex a muscle, lift an eyebrow, and even maintain your heartbeat. Feeding your body with proper nutrition in the form of balanced, healthy quality protein, carbohydrates, essential fatty acids, and nourishing it daily with vitamins and minerals, as well as an ample supply of water, is like putting high-performance, high-energy fuel into a sports car. The opposite of that, which so many people in America have the habit of doing, is like pouring impure, toxic, carbonated, caffeinated, muck and gunk into your system or the system of that high-performance sports car.
People who want to live life with high energy need to take a completely different approach than the vast majority of people in America today—we need to be extremely cautious, careful and precise in the way we fuel our bodies, otherwise, we will not have the fuel to live energetically.
MENTAL ENERGY:
OK, by keeping the body in shape and being physically fit, you’ll have the capacity and the power to conduct energy. And by feeding that body with high-performance fuel, in the form of good nutrition, you’ll have a source of energy. So basically, at this point, you’ve got a high-performance sports car that’s topped off with high-performance fuel. But that, in and of itself, will not take you where you want to go. That is merely part of the formula. Now what you need is akin to a steering wheel. You need the capacity to direct your powerful energy. You need to be mentally fit.
Now I’m not saying you need to have a degree from Harvard University. What I am saying is that just as you need to exercise the body to keep it healthy and strong, you need to exercise the mind as well. And that’s one of the things you’re doing at this very moment—reading is a very good way to empower your ability to concentrate and focus, and that’s what that steering wheel is. It’s the ability to concentrate mental energy and direct yourself so you can get where you want to go. Think of “concentrating the light from a fluorescent bulb into a finer and finer beam of light until it is as focused and intense as a laser beam. That’s how mental energy works as well! The more focused your mental energy, the sharper your vision. By vision, I don’t just mean eyesight—I mean the ability to see future opportunities and possibilities. Not just the ability to imagine things, but the ability to become so crystal clear about those dreams and wishes that you can transform them into clear-cut, specific goals and future realities!
The stronger your mental energy, the stronger your grip is on that steering wheel, and the more control you’ll have over where you are and where you will be able to go in your life. You won’t waste energy getting lost, and you’ll spend more time moving in the right direction!
HEART AND SOUL ENERGY:
This is the highest and best energy there is! This is the type of energy that can make all the difference. It’s the energy that separates the President of the United States from the Mayor of Any Town USA. It’s the energy that lifted superstars like John Elway, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky to Hall of Fame status when there were dozens (perhaps not hundreds or thousands, but dozens) of other athletes who had the same physical and mental capabilities. Heart and soul energy is the driving force of intense desire!
If physical energy is the condition of that sports car, and nutritional energy pro vides the high-performance fuel, and mental energy is the steering wheel, heart and soul energy is the accelerator! When you’re tapped in, you can go places, fast! You can lead and inspire others, and most important of all, give a lifeline to some one who is “stuck”; pull them out of their circumstances, and continue to move ahead.
You can’t buy heart and soul energy. No one can give it to you, but on the other hand, no one can take it away. It is at the core of who we are. This type of high energy, which we can feel in the form of emotions like excitement, optimism, joy, laughter, passion, empathy and love is within all of us! And, the more you believe that—the more faith you have in it—the more aligned and connected you’ll be with this powerful source of energy.
CONCLUSION
The way I now see it, energy is everything, and everything is energy. It’s in you, and it’s in me. It flows through our actions reactions motions emotions thoughts and feelings.
So if energy is everywhere, why do so many people lack energy? Well, when your physical body is sedentary, when you never “take it out of the garage,” no energy flows. If you never fuel up with high-performance nutrition, you’ll never increase your capacity to conduct energy. And without the ability to focus your mental energy, you’ll miss out on the opportunity to be self-directed and in control of your energy. And without faith in Life, you will never tap into the pure energy of your heart and soul.
The solution is to be physically fit and active, to nourish your body with quality foods, train and focus your mind, and most important of all, have faith that although life works in mysterious ways, life works! When you approach life this way, you will ascend to a higher quality of life and living! I promise.

more good foods. more coffee and green tea, and lots of antioxidents. It may be you're not getting enough carbs, and since you're a carb sensitive person, you feel very drowsy. Or, sleep?
Diet is so important in the quest to regain your energy.
Alwyn Cosgrove's newsletter had an interview of Dave Tate by Phil Caravaggio. In response to a question about his diet, Dave said:

I learned a lot, I do feel good. And the one thing that I really noticed is that before I used to basically fall asleep throughout the day, just have crashes all the time, eating like shit. I just didn't have the energy. But now I have tons of energy. And even though I do take in carbs, it's still not more than 150 or 200 grams per day, on a high day.
