Default Plyometric Box Question

I decided I want to improve my vertical leap and have purchased Kelly Baggett's Vert Bible, but I need to test my vertical jump. In some of the testing it involves a variety plyo box heights, and jumping off of them to test reactive ability. Would it be ok to use those step-up platforms you always see in the aerobic workout room? You know those ones you can add blocks to to make taller. My gym have exactly zero plyo boxes and I want to get jumping!

No. If you use those you won't get any results, you might possibly die.

The steps will be fine . Good job thinking outside the "box".

I like using the aerobics steps (by reebok) for plyo's because I can adjust height depending on progression.

Always remember that the risers should be "locked" in place before jumping...I learned the hard way.
