Default Trying to up my deadlift, should I feel it

in my upper back the next day?

I'm trying to make a better effort to get my squat and deadlift numbers a bit higher, and, here it is, a day later, and my upper back is a bit sore. Not pulled muscle sore, but, more like, haven't used those muscles in a while sore.

Result of poor form? Or, is this in line with adding weight for this movement?

Could be either.

I wouldnt be to worried about it. Pretty much everyone rounds their upper back while deadlifting.

upper back rounding isn't bad, and can be a good tool for conventional.

upper back soreness isn't bad.

nice, I do appreciate the feedback. I'm really focused on getting more weight lifted, especially on the deads, and getting good form while doing it too. Seems to me that the last bit of movement, at the very end of the lift is the reason for the upper back area soreness. Good to know it's not uncommon.

I'm still feeling it in my upper back after lifting box after box over the weekend. Black Friday brought a big screen tv, the stand which was actually heavier than the tv, a new artificial christmas tree, a new weight bench, and plates for me to carry. Saturday brought box after box after box of Christmas decorations down 2 flights and then back up again. It's normal, just keep adding weight to the bar

That's odd, I never have a sore upper back, but very often a sore lower back. Maybe I am the one doing it wrong!
