fitday BMR calculations off?
Has anyone noticed a discrepancy with the way Fitday calculates your total calories burned in the activities section?
I have mine set to 177 lbs, 26 yrs old, and 5'7", a lifestyle level of seated work and I get a total calories burned (with no added activities) of 2676.
However, when I go online and do a calculation using the Harris-Benedict formula and BMR, it says my BMR is 1842. I work out 6 days a week (lifting, pre-hab/core performance movements, biking) and if I use a multiplier of 1.55, then I get a value of 2855 calories.
My question is, why is fitday giving me such a high number with no exercise activities? I think it is because it gives a lot of calories burned for lifestyle. It says my BMR is 1846 and my lifestyle calories burned is 831, which seems kind of high for just seated work. The H-B multiplier of 1.2 (sedentary) gives me a total of 2210, which seems more correct.
Anyone else noticed this?
