Cool

Tricep rope: $5.56

Extreme 2005 Calf Machine: $2.47

Bench Press Skull Safety Device: $46.48

Look on the wife's face when she sees me dragging all this crap around the house: priceless.

To be honest I love building my own stuff and I am kinda broke now. I don't mind having fun and saving money at the same time either.

Patent Pending

Hey...... you've got the same bench as me. Great bench for the price, no?
Nice job with the creations!

Will the safety bars on the bench be too high for your flat bench? Hard to tell by the pic.

I love the "Bench Press Skull Safety Device" but does this allow you to bring the bar down far enough for full ROM?

By the way, where in NYC are you from if you've got all this space for this stuff?

I always think that improvising is great. I've done a fair amount of it myself, only working out at home.

I'm about to try ratched tie down straps in lieu of rings. A bit of foam pipe wrap for a grip and I hope to be all set. About $15 for the tie downs, which i already had; $70 for rings. I won't be doing any big time moves, just pushup and pullup actions.

GR, it is a great bench for the price. The safety bars are adjustable since all I have to do is to add fittings of different lenght to the feet.

Keith, right now it's adjust to just about 1 1/2 inch above my chest but it can go lower or higher. The landlord is giving me hell but it has to do with a moron next door about other problems and everybody will end up paying the price.
I live in queens.

CC, doens't it feel great to create your own things?

I had a chance to test it today and I felt a lot safer. Ideally I would have a cage or something else but I'm not too worried about looks in a basement.

The calf machine rocks!!

I don't have photos but I built my own squat rack out of 2 4X4's. I notched them out and bolted them to the floor joists in my basement. A few sets of 1/2-inch X 7-inch lag bolts bolted in at a 45-degree angle for bar supports. Hasn't even started to bend or even flex. I don't have that much weight, but there are no signs of failure. Saw the idea in some magazine a couple years ago.

Need to get working on that calf machine though. Do you have a measured/scaled drawing? J/K.

Blackjack, I went to a home depot and they have those "cut it yourself" tables so I just got a piece of 2x4 and without measuring I started cutting. Basically anything will do, I don't know, get three 18 inches pieces and split the rest in 2 for the base. I tried doing calves on a step and the thing flipped over so I decided to do this. Took me 2 minutes to screw it in. Just make sure your screws are not longer than 2 pieces of wood together.
