FitCast Insider Q needed for EC, CB, RC, TG,
The FitCast Insider launches on Sunday. This weekend, interviews with EC, CB, Tony G, Rachel Cosgrove, Cassandra Forsythe.
I already have a set outline for how the shows will go, I am going to drill these guests to give up the information that make them so successful. But I am looking for 1-3 other questions for each.
So shoot.

For Tony.
When I first saw your avatar pics here on JPFitness, I had you pegged for a pretty-boy abercrombie model, training abs and biceps only and barely eating. Then I read your articles, heard your interviews, and saw your training pics, and realized that isn't the case at all! I guess my question would be how do get/stay so ripped and stay strong? Got any diet/training secrets? My main goal is strength, but I wouldn't mind having the physique to go along with it, not like a model or bodybuilder, just a thick, strong looking dude. I can get stronger easily, but my physique never really hardens up, and when I diet down or add in cardio, strength always seem to suffer. What's your secret, bro?
Sorry for the long Q Kevin (hey, it's not as bad as the protien Q for JB though), you can summarize all you want.

Just realized I asked a question I probably won't get to hear the answer to. Sorry Kevin, but I just can't afford another $100 right now, my next 100 goes to MM and IO. But good luck with the interviews.
You can certainly still ask my question if you want though, maybe somebody else has the same one?

Yeah, no offense, but I can't afford $100 either. Maybe you can pay someone to write some questions for you.

If we submit questions that get used, do we get special access? (Hey, I'm a businessman, too. )

Um, yeah, Kevin, I've been kind of thinking the same thing. I mean, it's your show and now you're charging for access, so you either should be coming up with the questions on your own or paying someone to conduct a professional interview for you. You want to take this to the next level, well, that's it kid.

That, get your own forum or ask your newletter subscribers for the questions. Remember this is JP's not Fitcast.

Kev,
Maybe you should explain the difference between the FitCast and the Insider.
FYI to everyone, I have given permission for Kevin to post this here.

That might be a good idea considering these are the same trainers that were listed on the Insider announcement as giving special interviews, advice, etc to Insider subscribers.

The issue isn't whether or not Kevin had permission or not or what kind of agreement the two of you have. It's simply my opinion that when one takes on the task of putting on a show or interviewing someone, then that person should really be creative & self-reliant enough to come up with their own questions, especially if said individual plans on charging for the results of that interview. For example, (and this is an extreme example) do any of you think that people like Dan Rather, Katie Couric, Barbara Walters, etc. had others dream up their questions? Um, NO. That's part of what made/make them such wonderful interviewers.
Then, there's the other side of the coin. That being that there's been so many of these things that your creative juices are just dried up and perhaps you need to slow down before you run out of material completely. You must be careful not to let the so-called "well" go dry too quickly.
Just my .02 cents.

I hear you,
here is my side:
I could easily put together questions for the guests. But I like to go to the listeners to see what they want to hear. More incentive to listen to the actual show. No?

I am just copy pasting this but this is the easiest way to put it:
Quote:
To put it simply, The FitCast Insider is like sitting down at a table in front of the elite of the fitness and nutrition world, and having them tell you their Inside information. These people are considered elite for a reason. They are the most knowledgeable, successful, and are the experts in their field.
With The FitCast Insider Membership you are getting the Inside Information that these guest would normally talk about at a seminar where you would find yourself paying HUNDREDS of dollars just to travel there, much less to pay the admission. We are going to save you the time and just give it to you straight.
The FitCast Insider Membership gives you three interviews each week. That's right: THREE. And, you will be able to download them at your own leisure. Just download the MP3 file, throw it on your mp3 player, on a CD, or just listen to it on your computer at work (don’t tell your boss I said it was OK). The FitCast Insider will also be the new home for The Video FitCast with high quality downloads.
We are launching on the 19th of November, with THREE MONTHS OF CONTENT right out of the gate!
Normally, for a set of interviews like this, you would spend over $500 for just the first three months on CD – but not at The FitCast Insider. Those who sign up before December 1st will get an HUGE discount: $99.99 for 13 months! For only $100, you’ll receive loads of interviews all the way to December 31, 2007. After December 1st, the price goes up to $149.99.

Again, my question is how will the Podcasts be different from the Insider since the interviewees will be same? In your newsletter you say.....
Quote:
Anyways, here it is, The FitCast Insider.
The FitCast Insider is home to exclusive content including
interviews where the elite in the fitness and nutrition
world talk about their Inside Information. This is unlike
anything done on The FitCast. In these interviews we will
be focusing on one or two subjects and we will be going
very in-depth.
The interviews will include:
Eric Cressey, Lou Schuler, Alwyn Cosgrove, Craig Ballantyne,
Cassandra Forsythe, Bill Hartman, Mike Robertson, Dan John,
Rachel Cosgrove, Jean-Paul Francoeur, And MANY MORE!!
These will be EXCLUSIVE interviews, with content that would
never be given away for free. In fact you would have to pay
hundreds or thousands of dollars for this content!!
|
but in post #8 you say these questions will be for the free shows. Are you offering the 1st half the interview free, but 2nd half (with the nitty-gritty) is for the paying customers?

Sorry about my last post I just reread it, and it came across wrong. I meant that you can get a free forum for the Fitcast. Lou, Craig, etc have their own sites, but come here.
I know that people, with lots of experience, have given you advice and you seem to shrug it off. Maybe you should start considering some of this advice.
Wouldn't you want to ask the poeple who subscribe to your newsletter/podcast would be the ones to ask about the questions. If you asked them wouldn't it be more of an exclusive for them compared to asking people who don't listen to the podcast?

These interviews will actually talk about things like program design.
For example, a guest will come on and provide a workout program along with the audio.
Another example would be a diet to follow.
And the content in these interviews are going to include things that the guests would not give away for free on a podcast or on a forum.
