Default How do you perform this exercise?

Hi all,
Sorry for the naive question, but ive never seen this before.

Good exercise to help with your posture. Especially good if you sit at a desk all day and tend to lean your shoulders forward.

BTW, the bald gentleman in the background is Christain Thibadeau (sp?) he's got a pretty good reputation of doing things the "right way". Read a few of his articles over at T-Nation. He's quite the story himself.

Here's a picture of Christian Thibaudeau doing the incline rear delt raise. It shows the movement a little more clearly. You want to do these with the DB's flat to the floor or with a thumbs up position (which is easier on your shoulder joints).

Sorry Lisa, what do you mean by flat to the floor? Thumbs up is like in the 3rd pic right?

Thumbs to the ceiling is what she means. I keep my thumbs pointed at the ceiling during all of these types of movements -- it's essential for me to avoid pain since I've had rotator cuff issues in the past.

Right RL. I mean DB or hand position relative to the floor. So in a thumbs up position your thumb is pointing towards the ceiling. If you keep your db's "flat to the floor" they will be like the picture of Christian Thibaudeau (but not like the first picture you posted, that guy has internally rotated his shoulders and that isn't desirable).
