i was just checkin out vitamin world.com (thanks to rock for cluein me in on a 30% discount ) and i was lookin at the labels of the whey protein powders and i noticed that almost all of them said NOT INTENDED FOR PEOPLE UNDER 18. i was wondering if that had any truth behind it.
is it bad for people under 18 to take whey protein supplemnents? another question: is it ok for people under 18 to take creatine?
thank you for all ur help guys

I think because there are so many questions and fears surrounding supplements, all companies are going to cover their asses by not allowing minors to purchase their products.
I won't comment on the creatine, because I don't know all that much about it. But the whey protein is quite simply a dairy by-product, and is safe for consumption.
that's what i thought rockhard, i was like "wtf" when i read that. wat u said made sense tho-about the companies covering up their asses. i guess i'm wondering more so on the creatine part and whether it's ok for people under 18 to take it.

Now with creatine: We do get creatine naturally in food (beef). So creatine itself isn't dangerous. Whether or not factory-produced creatine in large amounts is safe is something I'm not qualified to talk about.
now, if anybody knows about creatine and could help me with it, my day's quest of knowledge would be complete

I don't know if creatine can be harmful to people under 18, but I know that you have to be 18 or older to buy it. Here at least, I'm not sure about over there. I do want to say though that if you are under 18, you shouldn't be relying on creatine for anything. Work hard to get the results you deserve, use things like creatine when you're older and working hard isn't even an option. Have you looked into how creatine works, or are you interested because you've heard others say its good?
EDIT: I wasnt trying to say that people who take creatine don't work just as hard as everyone else, so don't read it like that.

hmm I've been working out since I was 15 and have been using protein powders since then. I used creatine a few times but I simply didn't respond to it, didn't notice any nasty effects on my body and I'm almost 21 now so. Just make sure you inform yourself before using anything and drink a lot of water!
