im having surgery my shoulder in a few weeks and the doctor told me no working out for 6-8 weeks. he told me absolutely NO weight training. i have been lifting for a while now, about 2 yrs. i am curious about how long it will take to lose muscle i have been building. Will 7 weeks of no lifting make me lose a signifigant amount of muscle? also if there are any tips such as a proper diet to maintain the protien my muslces during my rehabilitation. Im not "worried" about losing muscle, but i am curious to know how much 7 weeks of abstinence from lifting will effect me. also muscle are said to have memory to weight lifting, could i regain the muscle lost during the 7 weeks in 7 weeks? i know i sound worried or paranoid about my image, i am most just curious. i want to be educated before i have the surgery so that i am not shocked to see that i have lost large amounts of muscle.
