I am planning to start "Limping", after finishing BoM intermediate in June, to correct my comparatively weak legs (my max bench is about 200 lbs and my max squat is about 235 lbs ). I was wondering what type of maintence training I should do for my upper body. Maybe "great guns" to take that strength in my upper body and use it to add muscle (I plan on bulking while doing this.)Or should I do a simple maintence program of something like bench press, dips, military press, and pullups? Also would it be ok to do "limping" in the morning(around 8 or 9 ) and then go back to the gym and do upper body around 4 or 5? Finally, is ther a way I can work jumping drills for basketball into this schedule? For anyone who takes the time to reply, I thank you. I have no idea what to do for my upper body or any of the other questions I have asked.

why not do his superstrength routine? It is upperbody and almost everyone pairs it w/ limping.

Could I do "super strength" later in the same day or should I do it the next day? Also, I dont want to add too much strength to my upper body right now since Im trying to balance out my legs.

With those numbers, I think you should just focus on getting stronger overall rather than maintaining your upper body.

Great guns is a specialization program for your arms. That means that if you were to do this routine, you would have to maintain the rest of your upper body AND your legs.

No, those sessions are very hard and have too much volume so you will not be able to recover to give 100% in both workouts on the same day.

The later phases of limping incoporate some jumping drills. Throughout the program he gives you options between movements if your emphasis is on mass or explosiveness. While some of these exercises are in the middle of the workout, I would do all jumping drills at the beginning if theyre a high priority for you. If youre going to be in season or playing a lot of b-ball then you probably shouldnt even be doing this routine and should focus more on your sport, its better for the off season when you have time to hit the weights.

I'll bet that if you do SS with it (on another day, like Gq suggested) then you will go up in upper body strength, but you will LEAP in lower body strength, thus giving you the best of both worlds. Once you finish the first couple phases of Limping, you'll be surprised out how those corrected imbalances allow you to lift a LOT more.

Best of luck!
