Talking

Personal best on my deadlift 2 weeks ago was 365lbs with no straps or grip assist. Last night after about 10 days of rest I decided to see what I could do with my new bar.

Got the results below.
Warm 315x5
375x1
400x2*PB
415xfail-bar went up 2 inches on left side
410xfail-bar went up 3 inches and stayed flat.

400lbs for 2 reps was the final. If you had asked my 1 year ago if this could happen, the answer would be a firm HELL NO. The more I lift, the more I wonder how much your frame of mind comes into play. Anyway...

I Feel good this morning, just slightly stiff when I woke up. I think rest played a huge factor in this as my back and legs felt great going into it. Thanks for listening and best of luck to all in 2005!

Thanks Guys! It was a very nice B-day gift to myself. I guess it was my way to say to myself that 30 isn't too bad. I'm in the best condition of my life and hope to keep the trend going when I hit 40! (holy shit, 40 is ten years away)

Thanks Hard_rox!

Wow, It looks like JP heard as he made me a seasoned poster today! (kidding of course)

30? Come on, Newlife. I pulled a 420 lb. deadlift last year at the ripe old age of 42!

Kick ass! You beat me there! Of course I'm only turning 28!

I'm in a slight rut with all the travel and having my brother around and such. I haven't missed many workouts, but I feel worn out. I gotta get back to it or you'll pull too far ahead!

Rock, Your post got me serious about hitting 400 a while back so a Thanks goes out to you. Travel might not be so bad if you can plan it around rests. No work was done between my max of 365 to 400...Just rested and stayed away from deadlifting.

Where are you at right now for your deadlift?

PS- Imagine where I will be in 12 years.

That was my point! Keep going! By the time you're 42, you'll be pulling 600lbs.

Oh yeah, and your shoulder will hurt...

And so will your hip...

Not to mention your lower back...

And your knee...
Glad my post got you going! Now I'll use yours as a motivator to catch up!

Last check I was at 335. That was just over a month ago. I'm still relatively new to periodization, so I'm thinking I'll get a nice boost over the next few months. I just started using chains, so maybe that'll put me up a notch.
