Is anybody doing this workout?

I just started last week, and far be it from me to question somebody as respected as Chad, but it dosn't seem like enough volume.

Day 1 sample:
Close Grip Bench- 1x3(6rm)/ 1x3(5rm) / 1x3(3rm)
Skull Crushers - 1x12-14 (14rm)
Close Grip Bench - 1x2-3(3rm)

Deadlift- same as above
Front Squats - same as above
Deadlift - same as above

Chin ups
Straight Arm Cable pulldowns
chin ups -- all following same as above

What do you guys think? Basicaly doing heavy compounds for strenght and then hiiting the same muscle group with a high rep, thus Hybrid.

Try it for 4 weeks, and see what you think. He suggests changing routines every 4wks or so anyway. When you're done, go to a higher volume routine if that wasn't enough, like the 10x3 routine has put in the March Mens' Fitness.

It's 15 sets - three workouts per week - 45 sets. That's a pretty good benchmark volume - not too much, not too little.

Like Bubba said, though, to know whether it works for you it takes doing it for 4 weeks and really busting ass.

Does it feel like not enough volume? - you said you've been on it for a week.

If it feels like youre not doing enough work, then by all means, lift more weight.

Sounds like this workout hinges on intensity. Are you really putting your all into each set? If you're not tired after doing the close grip bench then you probably didn't use enough weight.

For example, I did 3x3 (after warmup of course) of heavy deadlifts yesterday. That's only 9 total reps, yet I was sweating like I had sprinted a mile. (and I'm feeling it today )

I think you will be amazed at the results you can get from working with less volume than you normally do. It's not always best to leave the gym feeling trashed. Some of your best gains will come from the workouts that leave you feeling refreshed.

If this program seems to easy then I would say you aren't using enough weight. The deadlift/front squat portion would probably have me wanting to hurl. 15 sets is quite a bit at that intensity, deadlifting for reps is a bitch in the truest form (at least to me).
