Default Recumbent vs upright exercise bikes.

Is there an advantage of one over the other?

Sure, recumbents are much more comfortable when watching those flatscreen TV's in your gym ! ; - )

If you already have tight hip flexors, the recumbant will keep you in the wrong position even longer.

A recumbent with the auto massage controls would be even better....

Really? That would explain why the few times I've used one my knees hurt afterward.

one of CB's newsletters mentioned something along these lines. especially with HIIT, people tend to flop around with terrible body positioning.
