Default muscle spasm issue again...

This is a common topic, hence the title. I have had these involuntary muscle twitches in the past. I just finished hybrid hypertrophy by chad waterbury. Am taking a week off, before I start SOB training by chad. During my week off, I have noticed the same twitch and multiple twitches more so than when I am working out. My lats, my behind, my thighs. Is this part of my muscles recovering, growing, etc.

I am not worried about it at all. I also thought maybe i am deficient in potassium or magnesium. I am staying hydrated so I crossed that off the list. I am thinking about supplementing with ZMA again. I like to hear what everyone says about something we have mostly all experieced at some time. Any thoughts?

When I was having nightly cramps or spasms I did some research and it seemed lack of calcium can cause them and is often overlooked. Are you getting a glass of milk or something similar each day? I started having morning cereal with 2% milk and haven't had any cramps since.

I have been having a full glass of milk everyday so I don't think calcium is the isue, but i could be wrong. I am a notorious yogurt lover too, have to have at least 1 a day.

If you are trying to stay hydrated then you might be overlooking sodium. You need salt in order to retain the water.

Low sodium is called hyponatremia and is becoming more and more and problem these days. Perhaps try a sports drink while exercising.

Thats not it either. I have a gatorade-whey mix during and after workouts. Thanks though, any other thoughts on recovery and muscle twitching.

Do they hurt, or are they hindering your progress at all? If not, just let it go..

My twitching/muscle cramps may not be yours but my defiency was insufficient potassium. A banana, V8, orng juice worked for me (that is, ensure you get 100% of your daily requirements).

The other thing I found when doing my own research is that muscle cramps/spasms can just happen. Physical activity can cause them to happen up to 48 hours later from when the activity occured.
