I am wanting to purchase one somewhere so I can do some regeneration/myotherapy. I have no clue where to purchase or what to look for in a foam roller.

If you use the Perform Better link at the bottom of this page, it helps JP support the forum. They have a variety of foam rollers for sale.

Check out t-nation soon. I should have an article up soon which deals with more "focused" modalities for soft tissue work other than a foam roller. It is so going to rule. I hope.......

I look forward to it TG, there's a few very good options out there aside from the foam roller

True. Like others, I have been doing similar tissue work with great success for years even before the foam roller came into the main stream...using all kinds of different modalities.

look forward to seeing your article
While only PT's, DC's and massage therapists can do ART, I think us as trainers and strength coaches can do alot in terms of myofasical work. We just need to be creative

I actually show a "poor man's" version of ART using a tennis ball for the shoulders in the article....
Thanks for letting me know that. I was going to get one once I saw this, but then shipping was 7.50. I dont understand why shipping is that high on a 1 foot piece of foam.
Thats terrible when shipping is more than the item you are buying almost.
The elite roller is the way to go....if you are at all large (heavy) you will vaporize a regular bio-foam roller....I know that I completely wreck these things when I get on them. With the sale, you can get a great one that will last you forever! I'm on mine several times a day and it looks just like it did when I got it.

Amen, Dos. I already wrecked a white foam roller (the one I brought to the summit this year) and replaced it with an Elite. No warps or indentations yet!

I bought a black "elite" roller and really like it. However, it is MUCH firmer than the normal white ones, so you might like that or find you prefer something softer to start with. It was a big toss-up at the retreat on who liked the elite one vs the regular one
Yeah but the good thing about the AOL coasters is they send them for free to you. And often with a new design. Oh yeah, on subject, I am still waiting on mine in the mail. Damn international postal service.
