It has very important implications about types of exercise and health. While this forum is overwhelmingly pro-anaerobic exercise, I suggest you seriously consider the implications of the comments by leading researchers. In trying to make decisions about one's health, it's important to consider the credentials of those making claims. I distinguish between self-proclaimed reseachers and gurus versus those whose ideas have to withstand the utmost scrutiny by their peers. Accordingly, this article has as much, if not more, credibility as anything I've come across on the Internet. Carefully consider the sources as well as the information.
I welcome an informed discussion about any specific point addressed in the article.

The article was written by a journalist. While journalists can write very well-executed research articles, it makes no sense to compare this type of article to a peer-reviewed scientific study printed in an academic journal.
The point of the article seems to be that exercise is good for you. No argument there.
