I've always been wary of asking a guy's advice - and only asking a guy since he's, you know, a guy. So instead, I look for knowledgable people - doesn't matter if it's a guy or a woman.
One of the most knowledgable strength athletes I've ever, ever have had the opportunity to train with was in fact, a woman (Julie Havelka). Another knowledgeable woman would be Jalaine who goes by the moniker of "JJ" on some of these boards.
The only guy I would trust for any type of advice would be my boyfriend, Ko. And that's only cuz we train together and I know he ain't dumb. Heh.
