Recovery week
I am doing The Book of Muscle and am supposed to be on my recovery week, but I am struggling with it. Should i limit myself to like three HIIT sessions on my treadmill. I thought about adding in two or three Bodyweight sessions on top of that, but at that point it really wouldn't be much of a recovery week. I think I'm addicted to exercise, not that that's a bad thing. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

It would help to see what your doing now. Personally, for recovery weeks, I cut my volume in half and do no HIIT. I might cut exercises in half, cut sets in half, cut reps in half but use the same weight, cut the weight in half, or I'll just do two sessions instead of 4, there are a million ways to do it. Or I could just go to the gym, get a nice warm-up, get the first 2-3 build up sets of my first big exercises, and just when I feel ready to go at it, stop and cool-down, it's hard to do, but it works. I will say the biggest mistake I see in people's recovery periods is doing too much, and it sounds like that's what you may be doing, you def. don't want to introduce anything new in a recovery week (i.e. those bodyweight sessions), unless they are VERY light in intensity.

How about doing mobility work, prehab exercises, and core work. Do fun cardio, like outside biking for fun, or inline skating or whatever you think is fun.

You know! Like swimming with the kids and throwing them around in the pool. Like racing your friend in inline skating. Oh, I got it, like John Williams skateboarding! Yeah, like that. :p

^^^^Werd.
Youre not going to lose everything in a week, or even two. You do this to help live a better life, go live it.
