I leave tomorrow morning for Chicago's Strongest man. I will hopefully have a pretty good showing because they have an under 200 class so I won't have to compete with guys who outweight me by 40 lbs.
There are some fun events, but overall I am very nervous at how I am going to perform. The events are:
Deadlift for reps - 425 with straps - I am actually pretty nervous for this one because my deadlift training has been bad lately.
Farmer pickup/timed hold with 275 per hand - I hate static grip events they hurt. I am shooting for around 30 seconds, no idea what will win it.
Truck Pull - not sure of distance or weight of the truck but this should be fun.
Log Clean and Press for reps - 200 lbs on an 8 inch log. This event makes me want to puke - I should be good for a couple reps.
Carry and Drag - Carry a 220 lb keg 60 feet and then drag a 350 lb sled back. Fun stuff, not sure what my time is going to be.
Hopefully I will be back Sunday night with some cool pictures and video.

Where in Chicago is the contest being held? Is it open to the public? Are any of the big names gonna be in the contest? Maybe I'll check it out.

The contest is at St. Turibias Church, 5646 S. Chicago, IL which is 1 mile from Chicago Midway Airport. It is open to the public and I don't think any big names will be there.

Have a great show Danny, im sure your determination and effort will pay off.
Just make sure of one thing though, if you crap in anyones gym bag they are not in the 200+ lbs category...
