I'm sure it'll lead to spam in the future, somehow, someway...but since its Berardi, it'll probably be worth it. so I just signed up.

thanks for sharing!

So far I dont really think ive learned that much. A couple of surveys asking me if i would consider going to the gym and such.

Good for the beginner.. I think most of us here are quite a bit beyond this.

I was not terribly impressed with days 1&2, and I doubt I'll keep reading it. Frankly, I've been a bit disillusioned with the whole JB craze lately...

I'm dismayed that oatmeal is so bastardized under his plan. I know it's a low cab approach, but some things are acceptable. Doesn't the fiber help to minimize the impact?

I think so Cynic. I'll usually eat oatmeal and a protein shake in the morning with a piece of fruit. I mean I try to follow many of his principles, but not exactly on everything. After looking at day one, I sort of don't get the point of what JB was trying to do with this "crash course." The people he was trying to reach (ie. here, T-nation, etc) probably already know, and or follow some of his methods and to them this isn't really new to them.

Exactly slim. All it is is his articles summed up into 8 "courses" Just rehashing the same stuff we already know.

I think JB is trying to reach other people. His email was to all his current readers and he's trying to get you (or us) to send this out to people who may not have bought PN.

I'm looking for the science behind the claims. I'm nerdy like that. Another board is trashing him thoroughly, saying that his theories are based on studies that he is misinterpreting. I've yet to find those studies.

Jury is still out, for me.

Hey All,

JP told me about some of the site changes so I popped over to check in.

Regarding the 8-day course, for those posting positive stuff - I'm glad you've enjoyed it.

For those who seem confused by it or suggest it's a re-hash of previous material - it is. Here's what I posted about it over at T-nation to clarify...

I wrote this course because I wanted to give people who have never heard of me, and who know little to nothing about nutrition, a crash course on how to do it right.

And this course does just that: in eight days it teaches everything you need to know to get started.

For those of you who need a crash course, or even just a reminder of what's important, this will be perfect.

Now, for those of you who have read everything I've ever written or have followed my writing for a long time, please understand that this course was written for you too!

How? Because this is the tool you can use to help those around you who desperately want or need help.

Now, how to spread the word. . .

It's easy. Just write an email to all your friends, family, coworkers - anyone who you think could be helped by the course. In the email, just include the link to the course:

http://www.precisionnutrition.com/course/

Now what should you say in the email?

Just make it simple, and make it in your own voice. I recommend you take the course yourself, see what it's about, and make sure you believe in it before recommending it to others. Heartfelt recommendations are always the best.

Then, drop them a line and tell them about it. Maybe you could say something like:

------

Just came across something on the web I thought you'd be interested in. This writer I've followed for a while, Dr. John Berardi, just wrote this really good crash course on nutrition. He's the real deal, and the course is great and easy to follow. Highly recommend you give it a try!

Here it is:
http://www.precisionnutrition.com/course/

------

Or something like that ;-)

So, if you like the course and think the information contained therein can help those around you, please help us spread the word . . .

Thanks!
I'm sure that lots of you know someone (or many someones) who would benefit from a treatment of the basics - to get them started out the right way.

Well, that's who this course is for.

However, it's also not a bad review of some basics of body transformation - from creating the right environment to social support to the habits of success. So, even for those advanced, it might be a nice refresher.

Enjoy the course!

JB

Not sure why some of you want to knock the Berardi stuff. I'm definitely not arguing that it's the only way, but I'll say that I followed his method for most of the last 1-2 years, and have stayed pretty lean but continued to increase in strength. This last month I've strayed... strayed far, actually, hehe, and gained 5-6 pounds in the midsection. This doesn't prove anything, per se, but I did stay pretty lean while following it... and I've felt healthy as a teenager. That's all.
