Thought you guys might appreciate this; it falls under the category of "Stupid stuff we do even though we'd never let our athletes do it."

Last Thursday night was my low stress week in the gym, so I was just going to do some 3x5 rep work in place of taking singles over 90%. However, Sully had called me out earlier in the day while he was talking about how he did 15 reps of deadlifts with 420 pounds on the thick bar in 75 seconds a couple years ago at nationals. So, of course, I just HAD to try. Tony was there to get a two videos. My digital camera cuts out at 30 seconds, so you have reps 1-10, and then reps 11-14. It cuts out again right before I hit reps 15 and 16 as time expires.

Never a dull moment at Excel; how ugly are these?

EC, wtf ????? Watching those vid's, it was like, " big yawn, sigh,...let me pull this real quick and go get a cheeseburger." I'm sure there was a huge effort involved but it damn sure didn't look like it. Awesome pull!

Ahem, I did it in 60 seconds, with a down command. And my bar didn't have knurling.

However, I did give credit where it's due

All this was conveniently told to me AFTER I had finished.

I need to try again without chalking my hands between reps.

you have a judge that says "down" when you lockout. They make sure your locked out all the way which means you have to hold it at the top for a little

The rough metal part on some of the bar that you use to grip.

That's some awesome strength and stamina, Eric.
