Default Burst Capillaries

I get burst capillaries on the tops of my shoulders after heavy deads. They kind of look like a bra strap of red splotches.

I thought it was because of capillary contriction and dilation for redirection of blood to the large working muscles (ie legs) but now i'm thinking it may be exercise hypertension. My resting BP is 115/75 so nothing weird there.

Just wondering if anyone else has had these types of marks and possible have any particular thoughts as to what they are.

Doing an ECG test in the lab tomorrow so any cardiovascular problems may show up there. Will try and get my exercise BP taken at some stage.

Thought of going to a doc but they will just send me for tests, will see what i can do in the lab before i make an appointment.

Thanks

I used to get them all the time when doing squats or hack squats. Not a problem...they usually go away within 24 hours. I learned to not place the bar directly on the traps (on top of), but a bit behind--at the base of the neck.

How long do the splotches last?

I used to get something like that, but I found that it was the shirt I was wearing. It was one of those shirts made of "wicking" technology that was somehow irritating my skin. Only happened on days where I went "all out" for some reason. Maybe it's heat related for me.

Last approx 3 days i think but depends on the severity.

John thats what my lecturer was thinking but its not an irritation from the bar as i only get it deadlifting.

Will let you know if i workout what it is.

Cheers
