Way to go, Bob. It's great you "just did it". I think you need to still get your head in the right space though. Looks like you still haven't figured out what motivates you (beyond the bitch slap avoidance ... :p). Let's keep this going until we've collectively got this one figured out and behind you.

Also, Lou mentioned a while back in his blog about former highschool/college athletes have HUGE motivation trouble since there is no game, no formal competion, etc to push for. I know REdLefty struggles with this. We haven't found a solution, but maybe it's an explanation?
Good luck!

That's not wimpy at all, it's a good idea. I'm going to fight through it right now as it's been fermenting in me for a while. But the next time I'm going to remember this and chill back to let it pass. Thanks.

An example would be alternating between a heavy bag and jump rope for 25 minutes.

I keep my workouts to 30-40 minutes and I constantly change the routine so that's why this has me puzzled. Today's workout was pretty good should have some good DOMS tomorrow. And I'll be in there tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Rob. That bitch slap is a powerful motivator. I've been challenged to move up the deadlift chart so that will get me there now. Along with the threat of a kick from a steel toe boot. But yes I want to get back to where I'm pushing myself again. Hopefully that happens soon.

How about every workout you miss you have to picture yourself sleeping with Roseanne Barr while she sings the American anthem and eats an inexplicable number of deep fried corn dogs...
could work

Want to illustrate a bit more on that.. like pictures or something..
Good that you got your workout OG or else.. never mind.. Imagine JP with his man bag.
OG.. may be 3:45 is too early. What time do you go to bed the night before. Are you resting enough to be able to be up by 3:45. May be it's just a lazy feeling.
So did you go today? Don't say NO.
