#1 - I have NROL. I generally buy the books for the theory but don't do the programs. I've looked over the workouts and I'd be bouncing all over the gym from station to station. I'll look it over again and cull some ideas from it.
#2 - I had a workout partner. Didn't work out. I actually like working out alone. I get through my workouts faster and I can focus on what I'm trying to do.
#3 - My gym is fine. There's no eye candy at 4:30 am, and that's fine, I'm there to lift.
#4 - This really hasn't filtered into other areas of my life, just getting to the gym.
I appreciate the response. I've read a lot of good ideas in here that I'm tossing around in my head now. I'll figure this out, but in any case I'll get to the gym tomorrow. And I'll have a good attitude so the workout isn't wasted.

Challening programs that literally force your ass to go to the gymnasium. A month after starting it I'm constantly pushed to hit the gym because I don't want to flush down the toilet all the work that I've done so far.
Idea #2
Get a training partner
Idea #3
Change where you workout. Maybe you need some fresh eye candy to motivate you to get going again.
Idea #4
Take a vaction. Maybe you just need a break and getting away from it all could be the cure.

OG - Let me know when you find something that works. I'm having the same problem.

I don't think being a pussy is the same as being born white/black/yellow, etc. It is reversible.
At least that's what I've heard.

Who you trying to kid, Bill. It's about the sixpack.
Bob - I know where you're coming from. I go through stages like that as well. I know others have suggested these, but for me, it's: (1) find something new; (2) set a short term goal; (3) just do it. Lisa mentioned the latter one and, simple as it seems, often it's just getting back into the routine that's needed. Once you're "there", the motivation returns.

Rob, you're right. I just have to shut out the voice that's holding me back and, as you said, just do it. I'll be there tomorrow, and the next day, and so on. And I'll figure out a goal over the next few days. Something to keep me focused.
Thanks for you help everyone.

I know exactly what you mean, OG, been there too. If I get in a rut, it's darn hard to pull myself out. So better to stay out of a rut and keep mixing it up.
I vote for the switching things up. If you're unispired, you're probably somewhat bored too. You might simply need a break too, if the early rising seems to dauting.
Try some of the TT 6-month bodyweight routines for a different type of a** kicking. Perks are you could get up at 4am and skip the trip to the gym. You could even do them in the park Or later in the afternoon at they gym without having to fight for equipment.
But the best cure is what Lisa says, go anyway, you'll be glad you did!

Oh well, semi-rant over. Any words of advice/kicks in the ass are welcomed.

Sometimes, when I don't feel like hitting the gym or getting out on the road, I think about the people who really can't. Those with certain disabilities and such. Then I think of ALL the people who can and don't. That will motivate me usually. And if that doesn't, I look at it selfishly. If you go, the rest of the day you can (not that you have to, but) tell people what you did today. Kind of like the old Army slogan: We do more by 9AM than most people do all day.
Glad to see you made it in this morng OG.

You went - that's what matters.
A little story - my husband ( devout NON-exerciser) was diagnosed with colon cancer almost three years ago. The surgery, the resulting MRSA infection, the chemo, dehydration and multiple trips to the hospital were almost unbearable for him.
I think that if he was accustomed to enduring a little pain, having to push through fatigue and soreness & basically had built the mental capacity to withstand pushing that last rep, it might have been easier. (Please understand, I'm not minimizing what he went through - it was hell and back.)
So, I think that getting to that gym, even when we don't want to, can pay off in mental toughness down the road.
Oh, and he is working out. He is even eyeballing my NROL book...
