We all know that nutrition is important for health and appearance, but do you feel it has a lot of impact on your strength levels? If you aren't overly concerned with a six-pack, would a plate full of wings accompanied by an apple and a bowl of veggies be acceptable to you as a strongman and powerlifter?

I'd like to know what Johns take is on gear. Does he think one should train with belts and wraps if one tends to train "heavy".

Also wonder if he has any info on, or if he uses a BCAA daily.

I'd also like to know his current DL max if he is willing to share it, and maybe how he got it where it is now. Did he focus on Strongman lifts, or was it a more balanced approach?

This should be a good show!

I'd like to hear him talk about the new gym, Excel.

Are you happy with the success of the gym so far? Has it met expectations?
What is a typical day like for you?
Talk about the group of trainers you've put together and what they contribute to the success of the gym. What unique strength does each member of the team bring to the gym?

And what exactly IS it that makes you SUCH a sexy guy?

I'm assuming we'll only have 30-60 minutes, so I probably won't have enough time to get into detail about why I'm so sexay.

What's the longest you've ever been stuck on a strength plateau? How did you break it? How did your gains progress afterwards?

what interests him so much about grip/forearm training? Is it specific to the sport, or is it a personal interest of his.

Run through his diet. I remember the food log diet over at rugged. It was funny.

I would like to hear about Excel.

And all of Lisa's questions. ha

How long does it take someone to get to a level where they can be somewhat competative in Strongman or powerlifting?

For strongman comps, how big of a role does height play? Could someone under 6 feet tall even stand a chance?

Along the same lines as Ian - what does your typically daily diet look like? How many calories, breakdowns, etc. Or do you really keep track? Thanks!

Is Cardoza still alive? If so how is his bicep tear and hernia surgery coming along? Will he be competing again. I know it's about you but Cardoza just dropped off of the face of the earth after worlds.

What is the best way to get started with strongman type training?,
Should I integrate some farmers walk, sandbag work, event specific stuff etc. to my current training and go from there?
(I am not intending on competing just functioning and looking like I do)

Thanks

In the strongmen world, what are common backgrounds for competitors (are most of them former wrestlers, martial arts guys, bodybuilders, etc.). Which background do you find most common/useful?

In the past, did you have a weakness that you overcame and how did you do it?
