i know that dirk nowitski (sp?) of the dallas mavs uses one during practices and i'm sure that other players do too. i was looking into them to do my GPP with-all my speed drills and stuff. not that brand-i found a vest on sale for about $40 or $50. i'm still thinkin about it as i'm just in hs and wont make any $$$ till my b-day and then till the fall when i start reffin again. so, if you can afford it, i'd say go for it. i cant think of tons of things to do with it. i'm not that sure about the fat loss part, but definitely for explosiveness and more strength.

That's what I want to know. I was looking to get one, but it's $299 for the 84lb. version. Granted, that's a little TOO heavy for now, but you can always remove weights as needed. If you know of one for even $100, I'm there.

Dick's Sporting Goods used to sell vests out here that were very similar. They were $60 - $80, IIRC. They held up to 40 lbs. Still, 40 lbs would be great to use while practicing basketball.

Found 50lb. TDS vests for $100 on eBay. That might be all I can handle, both weight and money.

Hey guys,
I am very familar with the Xvest - what are you looking to use it with?
The weighted vest can be used doing most anything.
Let me know how I can help,
Jerry

I just wanted to add it to my jump and sprint training, but not for a couple months. I'm still gearing up the bodyweight GPP right now.

The weight vest is great for use with walking. Also good for use doing daily activities. Use in this manner will increase gpp and improve/enforce postural alignment.
I hate to say this but have been a bit disappointed in it's 'clamshell' design. It flaps around during gpp - jump - sprint work.
The wide straps really inhibit the overhead lifts as well.
I have a friend who absolutey loves the smartvest - it is around the same price as the xvest. I have never tried the sv but will it the future.
I wrote a few articles on the xvest i will see if they are still posted or try to find them for you.
Jerry
