I know this has been asked a billion times, but have heard different things. If I am cutting, should I take creatine or not. Ive heard yes and no, also heard some people cant get a six pack on it as it holds water weight (in the muscles)...

So if I am looking to cut up to the max per say, should I include creatine or just not take it at all?

Would I be wrong to say that it doesn't really matter? When your cutting you're lowering bodyfat. Creatine doesn't really have a large impact on bf does it?

If you have been taking creatine, then going off of it will probabaly make you lose a few pounds of water weight. However, the downside of not taking creatine while cutting it that creatine will help preserve stength. When you cut, you often lose a little strength. Creatine will prevent this to some degress. It's up to you, but in with my current cut I have been continuing to take creatine and it has not negativley affected my results. See how it works for you though cus everyone is different.

Berardi, from Hard Body Manifesto Part II

2) Creatine — While creatine is usually considered a muscle building supplement, it does a good job of maintaining cellular energy status. This may help preserve/increase muscle mass. It also will preserve/increase exercise performance. Recommended dose: a few grams per day (3-5g) go a long way.

Thanks for the info, I actually had done a search on t-nation and read the same article....so I guess taking creatine while cutting is okay..I just got confused because I know it makes you gain (water) weight and didnt know how to measure weight loss (ie I subtracted 500 calories) if I took the creatine. I also was always told you cant get too cut (ie six pack) if you are on it, which was the reason for my post.

why wouldn't you be able to get a six pack on creatine...you said it at the top of the page...the water is held within the muscle itself not in the skin. if anything it will make your muscles look bigger and your six pack might show up quicker. probably wont make a noticible difference short term though.

if youre worried about water retention with your creatine i might suggest CEX by VPX. it claims to have:

"Zero bloating, zero fat gain, zero water retention, zero sugars, zero carbs."
(as well as some other stuff)

ive been using it for a while and i have noticed the difference between regular creatine monohydrate and this creatine. i give it two thumbs up.

(by the way, anybody else ever heard of the stuff and can either vouch for it or criticise the product?)
