Ain't nothin but a 270kg (594lbs) ass to the grass squat. Plus, the dude looks ripped... Let's go move mountains.

At the university where I work (and work out), that picture is a poster in the gym that I sometimes use that has bumper weights. The guy who used to be the strength coach for Athletics was big on oly lifts and he put it up. I don't know who it is but I always guessed that it was a pic from a competition some time back.

Well there was no caption so I didn't want to just slap a name along with the picture. I know Franco competed in oly lifts at one time but that guy looks a bit small to be Franco. Regardless I love that picture and I'm glad you guys like it too.

2 things make me think it's noot Franco...
Mass: Looks too small up top to be him. He looks young and the photo look recent and high quality. Most pics of Franco during his prime years were grainy or black and white. He also has no sideburns in the pic and I have always seen him with them.
Weights: Im no expert on plates, but I don't think they had quality olympic bumperplates back in the early 70's and that would have to be the timeframe based on the age of the person in the pic. I could be wrong, but wasn't that around mid-80's? All the old footage I have seen shows them using wide-lip iron oly plates
Impressive lift is right!
Here is franco in his prime.

LOL that was my thought too. Although I'm not sure I could even get down there without ending up in a crying heap.

Just joking. By the look of determination on his face, I'm guessing that young man got up. Certainly a Franco look alike if I ever saw one.

This pic of Franco deadlifting?
Although this pic is black and white, I would say it is of similar quality to the squatting pic.
So it might be Franco, it might not, still impressive.

Look at the old iron and then the "other" pic has bumper plates. I also noticed the silver cap which is usually a oil port and found on newer bars based on what I have seen.
Chest mass is just not there and if he's moving 600lbs ass to grass, it wasn't early in Franco training years.
Anyone know for sure?
Rev, What was the source of that pic or where you saw it?
