Default I think we all can appreciate this!

So I've got a funny story; although I kinda feel bad about it because the guy was being outgoing and chatting it up with me. (See what I get for not charging my iPod Shuffle. . I've know got to "chat")

Anyways this guy asks me "what I'm working on today," and I replied that "I was doing "my upper body workout." The guy just is like "WOW, how long have you been here? a couple hours?" I wanted to start laughing and I told him "nah I've been here about 45 minutes." And then the guy just gets this blank stare on his face and was like "man my biceps/triceps routine takes about two hours."

HAHA, I'm like man you should check out the "Book of Muscle" or T-nation they've got some great routines. And his reply was like "thanks man, but I know how my body responds. . . I'm really into bodybuilding and I know how my body responds."

So he went back to doing some kind of 1/2 hammer curl with 15s and he's like "this totally smokes the biceps." Thank god my W/O was almost over because what he was saying made me want to vomit. Some people still just don't get it.

I'm sure we've all had some sort of run-in like this. . . . Enjoy! and have a great day everybody!

-Matt

Weird i know a few like this!

I think the massive sergio Olivia trained for 2 hours at a time,he used to do some bis rest for about 20 minutes and go back in,he would do this for a couple of hours! It worked for him but not many others!Except i bet sergio could have looked at a weight and got big!

makes me think of the guys at the gym today who did bicep curls and crunches. that was all they did while i did my dynamic CJ and Snatch.
deadlift, bench press, rows and some overheads.

Next time, slip him a little piece of paper with the words "http://forums.jpfitness.com" written on it and say, "Believe me, you'll thank me for this!"

Who else has considered business cards with the forum address on it?

My story doesn't top yours, but I'll share.

I was getting (overhearing) diet advice from the women on the treamill. One was saying how the junior hamburger was the only thing on the McDonalds menu that she could have on her diet. The other one was commenting on her favorite pop-tart flavors.

They both workout consistently and are attractive so it just makes me wonder how much better they could do and feel if they ate healthfully.

I was leaving work and I saw this chick on her cell outside of the gym. She was saying "yeah I worked out with weights for an hour and then I did a spin class for an hour, and I havent eaten anything in a few hours. I felt like I wanted to die."

No shit.

I doubt that would work. I tried to help someone at Bally's once.

He was a hispanic, knew very little English, but enough to get across coarse ideas. His name was Jose. He would drink NO2 after his wo. I was able to convince him of whey. I had a guy from MH translate a message for me, to him, but Jose wouldn't hear any of it.

I just do my own workout now and don't pay attention to what others are doing. I've taken on a very selfish edging lately.

That's what I've done for years, since I started training properly, which is pretty much the opposite of what most people do. I love the weird looks though, esp. during something like face pulls, band leg curls, rope pull-ups, etc. I hate to sound conceded, but what's funny is, 99% of the people at my gym are either smaller than me, weaker than me, fatter than me, or some combination, yet nobody trains like me, catch a clue people!!

I feel bad for them, I know what it's like not getting results and the mainstream fitness media certainly doesn't help, but I've given up on trying to help anyone. Nobody want's to hear it if it doesn't involve simple exercises for each 'bodypart' once a week, for 3 sets of 8-10 reps. They don't get the results, but just keep going for some reason. The definition of crazy is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
