Good article, it's always good to recharge the ol' metabolism while dieting. Good for the body and mind.
I just hate counting calories though, it's just such a pain in the ass!! I've always done fine just eating sensible, but now that I'm getting a little more serious about losing some bodyfat I think it would be in my best interest. Anybody know of an easy way to track cals? I've tried Fitday and it takes forever, esp. if you make a salad or something that a ton of stuff mixed together, you can't always get the amounts right on fitday. Guess I'll just have to get out the ol' pad and paper and start adding.

If you're willing to shell out some dough, Calorieking.com has good software. They even have all sorts of restaurants and brand names in there. Their database is absolutely huge. There's a free trial.
I've used them for years on my Palm PDA, but they also have a web version or a PC or Mac version, too.
You can setup whole meal combos that you typically eat (like your salad), once, and then save them for repeat use.

Nice writing Bip, starting to get a style there!

He's not a "hillbilly". He's from New Jersey, which is a couple rungs below "hillbilly" on the scale...
Seriously though, nice work again Bip
