I think it's probably more useful to ask what your notions are around alcohol and workouts. What's the concern with working out and then drinking (whether those concerns are supported by "fact" or not)

Unless you've got an appointment for execution, a workout's never in vain.

Just hit the gym, it's not going to affect how alcohol hits you, so you might as well stay on track. Didn't you say in another post that you haven't been to the gym in a month? Don't let a party cause you to miss more gym time.

Dont sweat it to much, its just one workout and one night of drinking, neither is going to make a difference on all that much.

yes, I say hit the gym too. If you seriously bust your a$$ too, you may be so whipped that you can enjoy yourself, but you may just end up going a little lighter on the hootch.

A workout is never wasted. Minimally, it ensures mental focus and continuity. Plus, you can feel better about having worked out at least, rather than just going out and partying.
Maybe compesate a bit and eat an extra big hunk of good recovery food.

Hit the workout before and then hit the gym in the morning after for some cardio. It is a trick I have been using for sometime and it works for 2 reasons. First of all knowing I have a session in the morning gives me the incentive to skip the beer bong and the double digit counts on tequilla shots. Then in the morning having to get up and do something gets your body moving and the blood pumping and the endorphin rush "usually" overpowers the hangover. At least you won't waste a whole day laying in bed nursing a hangover.

Whatever you do, dont do a max effort squat day the morning after a night of drinking.. Yeah.. that was a bad idea.

Is working out and getting drunk later ideal? Um, no. Will it kill the effort of the workout, I doubt it. Just do the workout and go have a good time. It's not like you're getting drunk every night or anything.
This kind of question is analogous to "Will eating a piece of cake ruin my diet?"

Shit, you guys make me feel like some kind of alcoholic. I have a couple of drinks almost every night of the week, and one night a week I may have a bit more.
Granted, I'm not in my best shape at the moment, but I have been pretty consistent in my habits, and have been bigger/leaner and motivated in the gym without losing much in the way of progress. I don't know, I guess it is hard to judge whether or not I could have been more successful.
The bigger question for me is daily quality of life. My day is fun, but busy and stressful. My nights are wrangling three wound up children, and a glass of wine is usually all that stands between them appearing to be little hellians or cute little angels.

OK, Im confused.
Your a teenager.
You take month long family holidays
You need a beer to have fun
Drinking is limited by law to 21 and older unless it is different in Norway.
And we shouldn't try to talk you out of drinking.
You also claim you will be getting drink tonight.
I think you should get hammered tonight, and tomorrow morning, ask yourself if it was worth it. If the answer is yes, you made the right choice. If the answer is no, learn from it.

Probably, In Belgium (and in most other European countries, I think) you're allowed to drink from 16years old.
