For most of us, the alcohol isn't the worst of it, it's the crap we eat once we are under the influence. So, we end up eating a ton of crappy food and way more calories than we should.
I look at it as a bonus late night feeding. At 3am 1lb of bacon and 6 eggs has to be good for you :p

The bigger question for me is daily quality of life. My day is fun, but busy and stressful. My nights are wrangling three wound up children, and a glass of wine is usually all that stands between them appearing to be little hellians or cute little angels.

Im with you Jp...I work all day, go to school at night and do my workouts in between. At night (usually around 9 or 10) me and the wife have been having a couple glasses of white zinfandel. Dont get drunk, just a slight buzz. This is usually during the week...on Friday and Saturday nights, we might hit the rum and diet coke a little bit, or shit sometimes a few licks of Patron Tequilla. Life's about balance in my opinion...you cant abuse things, but if you are a responsible husband/wife, father/mother and citizen, all work and no play isnt good either.
