Default Time of day to lift

Recently I've started come of the NROL programmes to see what all the fuss is about. The problem with these in my gym is that they use a lot of supersets, and my gym is getting more crowded every day at the moment.

In light of this, the only way I can fit in the programmes is to do my workouts quite late in the evening (2000-2200).

My question is - how much difference does the time of day make to a workout?

I know from the daily testosterone profile that testosterone levels are at a high first thing in the morning and dip off towards midday, so had always thought midday would be a good time to lift as this would boost the drooping testosterone levels. However, I have no real feeling for how large an effect this actually has. Obviously, the other consideration is general fatigue last thing at night, but this isn't really an issue for me.

I heard from someone that 7pm was when your heartrate was on top or something like that. But i think it really depends on YOU, what you like.. if you are dead tiered at 8pm, then it might not be a good idea, but if your usually wide awake by then, i dont think it can do any harm.

Best time to lift is when you plan on lifting.

Default Time to Lift

I personally feel it is a personal issue, the most important thing is that you work out. If you feel better at night, morning, whatever that is best. I prefer nighttime because the gym is less crowded.
