Default Last nights workout...

Holy crap..last night...beautiful weather out, outdoor pool, the pool was murky, but I won't get into that....anyways...I was the only one to complete a 3200 meter main set. I think over 30 people started the workout on various pace times, but I was in the fastest lane, with the College swimmers and Triathletes. The workout was 3 x (100, 200, 100, 300, 100, 400) Pace time was 1:30 per hundred, in a 50 meter pool. It was pretty brutal..my body is hurting a bit today. Total workout was 4500 meters, in a little less the 85 minutes...

Okay just wanted to brag a bit.....

Wow..thanks guys for the compliments.

As I type this I am contemplating doing a 5km open water swim. I have to tell you though..I hate open water swimming..I need my black lines on the bottom to see where I am going. Actually it is not so much hate as it is a fear of Open water swimming.

Nice work, swim. You do indeed rock.

And in the open water, watch out for sharks. I hear they're particularly ferocious in Lake Ontario. :p

Never swim in Lake Ontario...at least not within the bay area,YUCK...of course this is where the majority of the beaches are.

The open swim will be in a man made lake....complete with bouys and a rope course to keep you on course.

Sharks? Oddly enough, when I open water swim...i do hear the theme music from Jaws, but then again who doesn't?

It is a good feeling, knowing that I made the whole set and made it within the pace times.

THanks Lisa and K-court...

Great workout! What distance did you find to be the most challenging (considering the interval)?

Thanks Milkman..I was wondering if you would chime in. I actually mentioned you in the original message..but edited it out. I was not sure if you were still around.

The hardest one was the 400 on the last set..I was by myself. No lead off to try and keep up with and no one beside me....One guy was in my lane, he started out first but BONKED at the 100 mark.......so I was alone for the last 300 meters. I was not too out of breath at the end, but I knew I had done a major workout.

Sounds like an awesome workout, and it makes me miss some of the ass-kickers we had at school.

As a distance man myself, I can say that one of the best feelings in the world comes from passing the "weaklings" that bonk early... such a feeling of satisfaction

FYI I actually got back in the pool last Wednesday, and I've been in 3 times now... first three times since season ended in February It's in my training log if you care to check it out.
