New Member Intro
Hey y'all, just wanted to introduce myself. Been browsing the forum for a little while now, great resource! I found the forum through the Fit Cast, which I found out about from EC's website. A little background, I've been lifting for about nine years since I started high school, trained for football in H.S., wasted a bunch of time in college with mainstream bodybuilding crap, then finally started doing some good stuff in the last couple years. Right now I'm kinda in transition, I did a basic westside template for a while and put on some serious strength, now I'm trying to put more emphasis on conditioning, flexibility, and mobility, not just strength (still definitely training for strength, just not my only concern). I'm also interested in aesthetics, but I just concentrate on performance and the looks usually take care of themselves, you don't see many fat elite athletes. I did a local powerlifting meet in April, my first time competing, I squatted 418, benched 325, and pulled 474, all raw at a 196 bodyweight. My gym PR's are a 435 parallel squat, 375 bench (touch and go) and 475 deadlift.
Hope I can learn some stuff about my new goals, I'm sure I will, and I hope I can contribute as well.

Welcome!

It tells me I've been weak and soft all my life. And after it berates me for a good 60 seconds, I tell the voice to get bent because I'm busy getting stronger." - Me, in response to a co-worker asking me why I keep dragging myself to the gym

Thanks Kevin. The Fit Cast is awesome, I've listened to every episode. The magazine is a GREAT idea too!! I'm just so sick of all the misinformation in the mainstream fitness media, it's time to start bringing proper training styles to mainstream America!

I normally try to be early in welcoming someone, but I kept the computer off as much as possible (it was up to 94 degrees here and I have to protect this old computer).
Welcome, make yourself at home. There's left overs in the fridge (leave the beer alone, and the rum) and calbe on the TV. Feel free to make coffee, but clean up after yourself. You mother doesn't browse these forums.

No, I never posted pics at t-nation. I read there a lot, but hardly every post, the board is just so busy.
And thanks for the welcomes, people!

Welcome. I'm guessing there are a few things that we can learn from you. I look forward to it.
