Default Air in my joints??

Hi all
If i squat or flex my ankles, i hear those infamous crackling sounds. What are they actually? I can make them come out from many other joints of mine.

Here is a good explanation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracking_knuckles

My joints crack a lot. If I am sitting at my desk with my knees bent for more than 20 minutes, they will almost always crack when I straighten my leg. Same thing with my ankles, neck, back, etc...

During squatting I will hear some cracking usually during warm up sets, but it usually goes away as I get into the workout. I don't think it's anything to worry about unless you are experiencing any pain.

the same cracking knuckles like lots of people do with their fingers, neck etc? you often see it when the bad guy in the movie is about to kick someones ass, he makes his neck crack.
Ive always wondered if doing that is dangeoraus or something.

Paul, that was an interesting read from Wikipedia. Here's another, more exercise related discussion of joint noises.
