Found his grave in his mid 40s.
A long time family friend of mine had passed away this past week. A heart attack stole him from his friends and family at the age of 47. While he wasn't overweight, he was a diabetic with alot of health problems I wont get into. Times like these make me thank god I adopted a healthy lifestyle at the age of 15(many of you from the ole MH days put me on the right path years before and I am forever in your debts), rather than having to dig myself out of my grave later in life. I hold back tears when I think of my relatives and friends who are around his age and have the same lifestyle, yet will not adobt a helathy lifestyle thinking they are invincible for the time beeing. Thinking they are still young and have years before they need to worry. I hold back more tears for my friends that are around my age who are clueless and would rather lift a beer and cigg to their mouths before a weight over their head. Continue on your path everyone, not for your own sake and your own health, but so a 14 year old son and an 11 year old daughter will never have to find out what it feels like to bury their father. So a mother never has to bury her son. So an entire community does not have to experience the passing of a good man decades before his time is due.

Sorry to hear about your friend Steve. It's hard to believe 47 and not overweight.

Unhealthy lifestyles catch up with all, even if not in their waistlines.

My condolences, Steve. Thanks for sharing - your message is a good reminder that we're doing this not to get Brad Pitt abz (well, not only ... ) but rather to remain fit and healthy into our old age; to be there for our family and friends for a very long time to come.

Sometimes people just die and there is nothing anyone could have done. It's sad. I hope everyone recovers and at least one person tries a little harder.

Touching and very insightful, Steve. Thanks for posting and sharing. My wife and son remain the strongest motivation in my life. Sadly I waited until I was mid 40 before I cared. Events like this make the effort worthwhile.

Thanks for sharing, Steve. I'm sorry for your loss. The best thing that you can do is continue to be a good example to your friends and family.

Steve that touches home. My father will be 47 in less than a year and doesn't lead a healthy lifestyle. He works manual labor all day, but eating healthy has definately never been his forte'. I only hope to have him around as long as I can and pray the lord see's fit for me to have him. My condolences go out to you, your family and friends. God Bless you in your time of sorrow.

Steve,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. Such a young age to be taken away from family and friends. The pain of seeing others headed down the same path is one that is hard to bear, but one that is based on personal choices that you cannot control. Stay healthy and be the example. You can only hope that your family and friends will follow you.
