Default Swollen Fingers

I took two 3.5 mile walks with my wife over the holiday. I noticed that her fingers were swollen about a mile in. She tells me that this is normal for her. She doesn't swing her arms like a mad person. Her blood pressure is normal with some medication. I asked if her ankles swell at all and she says no. Has anyone else seen this and should I be concerned?

Women don't generally perspire as much as men. They do tend to swell in the heat. My mom does the same thing.
