Default Injuries..time to change and slow down?

I turned 40 recently, just got my lifetime goal of 315, but now the injuries are adding up, just today at the gym at 6am, and doing front raises and my back tightened up real bad and deep pains in back, shoulders, knees.
Should I change to more of a machine weights and more cardio?

I'm 40, about 6'3 235 to set the stage...
Thanks for advice and if change, what webpage is good for that?

It's probably a good idea to be evaluated by a good PT. I was amazed at the deficiencies which Bill Hartman was able to see and correct at the retreat.

I agree with Bill that finding out what your weaknesses are and addressing them in prehab and/or rehab will make all the difference. You don't need to go to machines or more cardio necessarily. But you do need the right program for you. You're probably going to need someone to see you in person to evaluate what that workout should be.

To add to what others have said, switching to machines can actually cause further injuries, because machines put you in a fixed, sometimes un-natural, plane of motion.

Are you making sure to get warmed up properly? Dynamic stretching, mobility work, and address weaknesses... that should get you back on track. Good luck!

Have you taken a break from training for a while? Maybe a week off could do you quite a bit of benifit.
