Hey, work your way up to your 1 RM next time you lift. You might be surprised how satisfying it is.
Warmup, then something like this:
135x12
175x6
185x3
195x1
205x1

Congrats, karky. Just to clarify, the Americans consider 140kg's as 315lbs rather than 308 (3 plates each side).

It's 2.2lbs to the kg, however, the Americans count 20kg plates as 45lbs rather than 44 so they get an extra couple of lbs here and there.

Probably not, a 140kg deadlift in America would translate to 315lbs because they count 20kg plates as 45lbs instead of 44.
Including the bar it's 45 x 7 = 315 for the Americans
For the Europeans it's 44 x 7 = 308

To put it simply;
3 plates each side in EU = 308lbs
3 plates each side in US = 315lbs
They're 7lbs off due to the fact that they count a 20kg plate as 45lbs instead of 44. I don't think I can explain it better than that.

Nah, we have two types of plates here. Some are 20KG and some are 45lbs. They weight different ammounts.

My 45 pound plates are marked:
45 lbs / 20.4 kilos
The plates are a legitimate 45 pounds.

I never doubted you for a minute!
If you are going to use an unwieldy, illogical, outmoded and anarchic measurement system imposed on you by your imperial ex-occupiers, the British, I would rely on you to do it accurately.

We only kept it for weight lifting because the numbers were bigger and sounded more impressive.

What? This is just a friendly exchange. What's a few pounds among friends. If I wanted to get picky, I would try to measure the weight of the black paint on the plates to boost my numbers a bit.

Haha, thanks. I never realised that true 45lb plates existed, I'll stick to the exact kg to lb conversion from now on to avoid confusion!

The Olympic plates look bigger with the bright coloured plastic -plus they catch the chicks eyes easier so they see what a "huge" amount of weight you're lifting
