Failed at 215 again! And 210 felt harder than the other weak.

Am I getting worse instead of better? Ah well only 2 more weeks of NROL hypertrophy - will try a strength one next, hopefully I'll see better results then!

haha. Eric does this to me ALL the time. It will be "turn" on bench night and they will look at me and ask what I want. I'll say a certain weight, and Eric will retort with "WTF dude....don't be a pussy." And then proceed to put another 10-15 lbs on the bar.

Now I have to picture you and Eric standing there with shit eating grins adding more weight to the bar.

Are you eating enough to make the number increase? Getting enough sleep? Usually during a hypertrophy phase, you would be eating well, and should still gain some strenght. Did you fail on 215 first, and then 210 felt harder? If so, that would make some sense. Hell, sometime I find I just have an off day.

I bet you'll pull 225 by August 1st. Stick with it and good luck.

Thanks mate...yeah I'm eating like a horse (maybe not so clean though!) Diet is always the hardest part of the equation for me.

I know that I shouldn't be expecting great things while on the hypertrophy workouts, but I'm gonna get them finished before jumping into the strength phase. The whole 1RM is new to me and I gotta admit there is a very different mental aspect to it.

Just thought I was close enough to this to make it this week...will make it next time or have some bursty blood vessals to show as a consolation prize!

I think that's part of the fun of the list. It's motivation to put a couple of people behind you and do a little more than you thought. It actually crossed my mind that I should have put one or 2 more lbs on the bar so that my coefficient could have raised me just a little further up the list.

This is awesome! People you work out with regularly know when you are/aren't giving 100% so they just add weight for you. Nothing like talking smack to get everyone all mad and fired up. IMHO, it's these workouts where big leaps are made in strength.

Irish,
Patience. The weight will come. I stayed at one weight for about six months and then suddenly exploded. The NROL Strength Programs will get you there.

Nice to see some great PRs here!

Just wanted to throw in that I'm currently in maintenance mode since I'm focusing on my artwork right now. Won't be focusing on hitting any PRs until after next week.

Just maintaining 285-300 in the deadlift - nothin' huge by any means at this point.

Have neglected the deadlift big time and keen to improve.
My 4th session of deadlifts after a couple of year lay off and I hit 5 reps of 360 lbs. I will go for a 1 rep max on saturday and will post the result. Currently weighing in at 230 lbs.

My one-rep goal is 405 lbs before the end of July.

If you're pulling 360 for 5, you should get 405 without any trouble.
