Last night I pulled 315 at a weight of 147. That is a coefficient of 2.14.

Been a member of this forum for a couple months now and always seemed to miss this awesome thread!

322lbs DL @ 167BW

322/167 = 1.93

Recently bought 2 x 55lb plates, bringing my fully loaded bar to 322lbs, had previously been repping out on 235(previous fully loaded bar).

Better get some more weight!(planning to buy 2 x 33lb as soon as mum/dad can drive me!, I'm 16)

Cheers,

Damn, nice numbers everybody. I plan on doing one more max effort pull before the season, in a few weeks. Then its maintainance time. Goal: 405 by my birthday in July at around 190.

Kevin,
I have a feeling 405 is going down and before your birthday.

Ok, this is my first week at attempting Deadlifts above 300lbs. Didn't have more weights than that before. Friday I got 405lbs but I knew that was basically just a warmup. Didn't really hit me like a workout. What happened was I started way too low on the weight with the warmup sets and did too many reps for the warmup sets which I figured out will kill the grip. So I had grip failure a couple times on 405 friday because of the warmups but also because I was doing both hands over and allowing the bar to roll out before I got it up 6 inches. I'm a complete noob at heavy lifting as you can tell but I'm going for it. Tonight I started at about 350 and just did singles moving up 20 to 30lbs every go at it. Made 475lbs but then failed at 505lbs. And now I just got 485 almost to lockout. I'm going to settle with 475 so I can do this over this week. I'm looking to slap TheSteve out of the 5 spot before I get this Deadlift thing figured out. My GOAL is 1000lbs which is what it would take me to top the Coefficient List at 285lbs before this is over. Yep, I just checked. I'm done for the night. But I'll be back.

ps on the 1000lbs, that's only 5 100lb plates on each side, I know, I've only got the 300lb set and 350lbs in 25's that I bought so far but 100lb plates would make this whole thing this much easier, thanks for being so supportive guys, I'm just kidding with you, I kid, I laugh, I'm Jocular By Nature

pss Are Lifting Straps allowed because I've got some still in the wrappers around here somewhere, I'd hate to have to use them but I'm serious about that 5/4 spot, not so sure how serious I'll be about after a good 6 months of Strongman training but JP means the world to me right now, my weakest link is the fact that I haven't cooked a meal for myself in I don't know how many years, I finally got myself off of having fast food twice during my 10 hour days at work, now I need to lay off so many MetRx protein bars, those things are addictive, I don't know if it's a lot of sugar or what, the wrapper says 'less sugar than before', still I don't think 3 in 10 hours would be considered moderation

btw I love the deadlift, it almost makes me feel heathier(the health lift = the deadlift) than Crossfit makes me feel fit, Crossfit makes me feel like running around but the Deadlift makes me feel like jumping around, hehe

psss I never played sports past peewee so this is honestly my first go at serious strength training, if I had to give credit for my strength to somewhere it would be to Zach at undergroundstrengthcoach.com and to the fact that I 'm probably bigger than most of the Strongmen you see on tv just not there yet with the muscles

Not on a solid 3" thick bar it wont, another question I have about the deadlift is if wearing a belt is supposed to make it easier, seems like it might but I'm trying to develop my core strength for Strongman same way I'm working on grip strength

I'm in an old upstairs apartment, I'm ready to go crashing through the floor any minute

5 100lb bars on each side = 10 100lb bars overall. So, 1000# plus the weight of the bar. A 3" thick bar is thicker than the 2" hole in the olympic plates and thicker than a normal olympic bar, which weighs ~45#. So, it'd be at least 1045#. I'm confused

no, but seriously I'm planning on passing the 1000lb mark so call it what you want but my GOAL on the Deadlift before I start competing in Strongman is 750lbs so Ian, if you're listening buddy, it's 475 at 285 with a GOAL of 750(hopefully I'll hit that somewhere in the immediate future), kidding about the 3" thick bar, the solid ones are just that more expensive, I need a nice black bar that I know can take the punishment and an Apollan's Axle from Ironmind for Deadlifting, well for everything, I will sleep with it next to my pillow

I haven't chimed in awhile. Been busy with school and such, but finally am back on track with a good schedule. I hadn't missed workouts as much as I had mostly been winging it in the gym. Anyways, I pulled yesterday and all my warmups felt really easy. My previous high was 425@200.

Yesterday I pulled 430@195 for a set of 2!

I think I would pass out with that sort of DL volume lol...good job Mahler. I know when I got my high the other day, I was mentally done for the rest of the workout. My body was only a little tired, but my mental state was exhaustion.

I actually finished this off with 4 more sets of exercises. Leg Raises, Side Rasises, Reverse Crunches, Roman Chair Situps.

Wow... There is just something about DLs that zaps me. Squats, rows, and bench are fine. Maybe I just enjoy DLs so much and get so jazzed up to do them that I really do push toward exhaustion. Owell, only 70 more pounds to 500
