Default Is it possible...

I have posted before about my loss in muscle mass due to illness and injury, and I am now left with fat and a little muscle. As a traditional ectomorph, if I lift heavy and run can I bring back the muscle I HAD while losing the fat?

It is not impossible. You should look at Chad Waterbury's Summer Project at T-nation or CB's Turbulence Training.

Make sure you are doing HIIT not low intensity long cardio like jogging. Also take a look at Adam's Diet in the Diet/nutrition section or T-Dawg 2.0 at T-nation.

Those guys in all the magazine supplement ads that go from fat to ripped in "just weeks" are formerly buff guys that let themselves go to pot, then get serious again. Muscle memory will get you back on track faster than those who've had no muscle.

Likely. Not saying you'll get the same result, but I still think the muscle memory thing is true.

There are a couple people here that laid off lifting for quite a while, then when they jumped back in, got back to where they were pretty quickly.

Mileage may vary.

I bulked to 210lbs last summer and I weigh 180lbs now. I was told at a health screening that the most I could weigh with the lowest body fat percentage is 195lbs. I understand that it is normally hard to put on muscle while lowering bodyfat. However, in my case I was curious if "muscle memory" would automatically put on my lost muscle (I am assuming it would be fast twitch if I am simultaneously lowering my bf).
