Talking New squat PR!

I finally broke 300lbs on my squat, and I felt the need to share.

Yesterday was my first day back after a rest week and I hit 305 and then 315 for singles.

Being 6' 230lbs, this is not a huge amount of weight, but for me I think 300lbs was more of a mental barrier. I have only been seriously training for about a year and a half and before last year never did a free weight barbell squat in my life. Now it has become my favorite lift.

If anyone is interested, you can see my workout log here:
Time to get serious...

That's great, man! 300 is a sweet number to be able to toss out when chatting with friends, etc.

Awesome Pjb923. Squats are awesome and 300lbs sure is sweet. Good going

Thanks for all the kind words. A lift like this on some of those other forums may not have been so well received.

I'm glad to hear that I can be an inspiration to others on this forum when it is all of you that have inspired me.
I hope to keep setting PR's and i'll be happy to share them here.

Now I just have to get my deadlift up to 375lbs before I get too old to lift that kind of weight.

Great job! Being 6'3" and squatting heavy has also been a mental barrier for me, it just seems to take forever to get back up! You just have to love those numbers....!

Congratulations. It's not about the weight, it's about the goal, and the achievement, and the setting of the new goal. Congratulations, brother!

Great words, Fish. But, it's so hard to take you seriously when I look at that avatar.

congratulations. You've now made me want to go to back squatting and setting a new PR...but I'm going to wait for awhile on that. I'm in the same boat as you...shooting for 300.

Congrats on the PB, Paul. It's great to see those milestones fall by the wayside. Good luck attaining your next goal.
