Default My End of Phase 4 Thoughts... and Question about S2B Coaching Program

I'm at the tail end of the 4th phase at this point. It's been a fun journey and I'm sooo happy that I've taken the initiative to better my life and my physical health by undertaking this task--actually now that I think about it I'm pissed it took me this long to start caring about my outward appearance. I'm definitely not dissapointed in the results so far but I don't look like the (ripped) guy on the cover of the book either!

When I started I was a skinny-fat (meaning skinny all over, with a small beer gut; 4 years of college eating 3 meals a day, 2 of which were fast food and drinking heavily 3 nights a week will do that to an ectomorph) 6'2'' 176lbs. I'm now 198lbs and I'm still steadily going up by about a .5-1lb a week. I'm not sure if I would have seen better results or not had I followed JB's diet plan a little better (how anyone can eat 1lb of ground beef every day for 16 weeks is beyond me! besides chilli and spaghetti sauce what is there?!). Once I started phase 2 and saw that my weight was steadily going up (sometimes as much as 2.5lbs a week) I decided that my calorie intake must be fine (i never counted calories throughout the entire process) so I just continued to follow my own clean diet. I didn't measure my body fat percentage or take any measurements or any pictures before starting. I just jumped right into the program. I have definitely gained a little more fat that I would have liked--by I've been really lax on the HIIT (maybe that is why I was able to consistently gain weight with a so-so diet).

Overall I saw good gains in my chest (I had no pecs before, it was just flat..then a small beer gut)...now I at least have some mass in my chest--this is the thing I am most happy with because you can kinda get away with a little gut if you have a decent chest. I have no idea what body fat percentage I am. When I flex my stomach my abs will be pretty flat..and I can faintly see the top rows of my abs outline..when I don't flex there is a slight outward gut protrusion and definitely no ab definition. Overall I think I saw the biggest gains in my quads. They are much bigger than before and when I flex them I can see the muscle outlines --something I didn't have before. I'm most dissapointed in forearm growth--although this is probably naive of me (I don't know much about body building, but I do know gains in the forearms & calfs traditionally come slow). I just hate my forearms because I naturally have a very small wrist so my forearms are pretty nonexistent. Hard to say with my back but my shoulders definitely increased in size as well. Tricepts and Bi's...both definitely bigger/stronger but not as big as I would have hoped.

Overall I am very pleased with the results. I think the best thing for me to do is to just keep bulking..until I get to at least 220 or 230..then cut back down to around 205 or something.

I was thinking about ordering the $97 package with all of the extra nutritional information and the extra 8 phases or whatever it is. Nutrition has been the one thing I've been worried about as I'm pretty confident in my training intensity. Also there is JB's precision nutrition also for $97. Any of you guys on this board purchased the extended S2B coaching program or precision nutrition? Just curious...trying to gauge if it's worth it...

I haven't done it. I'm sure that it's a good program though. Personally there are a lot of other programs on my list before I get into something like the extended program.

I am about to start phase 4 of the program and have gained 20 pounds so far (started at 130, now at 150). But i am kind of disappointed because i saw no mass gain around my calves and my forearms, the areas that are usually visible. And the nutrition package seems pretty pointless. Just eat and eat and eat (healthy)

You have to remember that your forearms are pretty much just tendons & ligaments so it is very difficult to even give the impression that they have grown.
Also with a lot of ecto's the long legs give the impression that the calves haven't grown when they have. On long legs the calf muscle only represents around half of the lower leg...
