What are your goals? Height, weight, build?

These are the things I need to know (in the voice of the guy from Chronicles of Riddick)

Ditto. Need to know where you're coming from and where you're looking to go in order to make some decent suggestions. (in the voice of the guy from Pee Wee's Big Adventure)

you both got it wrong, if you're doing Macho Man Randy Savage you need to at least put "ohhh yeahhhhhhh!" on the need of your sentence...

There may be some confusion with the "ohhhh yeahhhhhh" Isn't that Duff Man's thing too?

Duff Man got it from Macho Man...."Snap into a Slim Jim...Oh YEAH!"

And yeah, we're talking about Miss Elizabeth, the first hot chick in wrestling...

Ok so i'll be the first serious one.

Before i say anything about training routines, the only way that you will reach your goals is with a solid diet.

Two of the best programs going these days are the new rules of lifting which is offered at amazon.com and some bookshops and we have a subforum here which Lou and Alwyn will answer any questions.

If you want something quicker you can go to turbulencetraining.com and craig has many awesome and brutally effective programs and is just an email away from answering all your questions.

Both options have good nutritional advice to help you reach your goals.

Good luck.

Bart-
Josh is right. Diet is just as important is your routine. He made some great suggestions, and I'd also recommend checking out the Sub-Forum titled "Fitness FAQ." There is a post at the top of the thread called "Workout Routines" that has links to 3 pages worth of routines. This is a GREAT resource for someone looking for different options. Each link should also have an explanation of the main goals of the workouts.

I know, I know...

I posted right before I went to bed. While laying there, i thought "I should have added "ohhh yeahhhhhhh!" Then, I realized it would be kind of hard to explain to my wife that I had to get out of bed to edit a post about Randy Savage. So, I went to sleep.

I did Craig Ballantyne's Beach Muscles last summer. It is 3 1 month phases. I liked it and might repeat over the summer again.

I'm with lax here too. Just started Beach Muscles a week ago, just the change of pace I was looking for too (been doing a rotation of RR&D and HST mostly). Going to add just a little leg work to it, but my shouldes and chest are telling me this will be a good month.

btw - I got the logs for it off your site lax, most appreciated

Macho man...haha...One time long ago I saw him and Hulk Hogan at the gym. They were in there getting pumped for a show that night. The best part is that they both stayed in full character while they lifted. I still remember Macho Man, in his sun glasses of course, leaning to down Hulk and saying in his Macho Man voice, "Oh yea, c'mon Hulkster, push it!"

Craig tweaked it a bit for me too. I should have that at home. He added some back and legs to it. I told him that I wasn't challenged enough with it. After I told him that it was killer. You can email him too and he will tweak it for you.

Are you guys talking about his Beach Body Workout? There is an intermediate and advance phases?

Also What were your results? Do you have stats?

this is the one that I just started - http://www.mensfitness.com/fitness/38

If you've done the "Gimme a V" phase of HGM, looks pretty similiar. No results yet, just getting started after a two week lay off. But I'll let you know how it goes.

I don't have any measurements, or quantifiable results, or stuff like that, but I will say this - I'm three weeks in to Beach Muscles, and my upper body is showing improvement. Arms, back, abs. I've gotten compliments from people too. I am definitely keeping this one in the rotation.

There is also the new workout in MF that's been generating some conversation. I know there are a couple of guys doing that one. Hopefully they'll come back with some good results to report.
