On March 13, I started posting my training log for New Rules of Lifting. In a little under 5 weeks, over this past weekend, it chalked up over 3,000 views. I can't thank the people of this forum enough for the support that this represents.
I have often tried to be the test subject for many a new program, starting back in the Men's Health days with HomeGrown Muscle, and have chosen my programs ever since for the challenge they represent. New Rules of Lifting is no exception and is a rigorous and challenging routine.
However, with that said, I cannot help but be amazed by the interest you have shown in the antics of an older guy, an ordinary guy by any standards, who just likes to lift. You are for me, some pretty serious motivation. Thank you.

I think I've poked my head into your log a couple of times and without reading that much you are an inspiration to those of us who are younger. You are what we should strive to be when we get older. I currently go to a gym that has older people...many of whom are morbidly obese and I can't help but think of the people like you and a few others that I know who are want I want to be at that age. So I guess you could say that you are motivating the younger generation! I hope that all makes sense.
Whose "old"? I wish I was as young as you. And so you know, while I may not have commented in your log I am reading it everyday. You are an inspiration and your Prime Motivator moniker fits you well.

Why do people stop to look at car wrecks! :p Seriously, you are an inspiration John. While you've got 10 years on me, I know you could kick my ass and that is a real motivation to get better and stronger.
John, I have a challenge for you. Can you motivate me to post my own log even though I know my log will always pale in comparison to the great and popular Mahler?

Havin' fun,
Scott
Scott,
The challenge is not mine, but yours.
Are you willing to accept the challenge?
Can you put yourself out there for all to see?
Is it possible for you to make the commitment?
I think so.
And, I will guarantee that I will look in on you and help where I can.
As for "the great and popular Maher." LOL
All I can think of is "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. The great and powerful Oz has spoken." Sorry, that just popped into my mind.

Have you thought about joining the powerlifting team mahler? Your a beast, keep at it.
Beast? Hardly, my friend. Ask the guys who have met me.
I am more like Clark Kent than Superman, I'm afraid.
But, thanks for the compliment just the same.

John, I remember about 2 1/2 years ago I had never done a seroius lifting program and you were the one that inspired me to do HGM when I was at MH more often. You're a great guy my friend and a serious motivator and if we can give some back that is awesome!
