Default Rhythm/form of Hang Clean/Front Squat/Push Press

For the hybrid: Hang Clean/Front Squat/Push Press, I am having a bit of difficulty on the shift from front squat to the psuh press. My assumption is that it should be one smooth move from the squat up into the push press. I did this with an ATG front squat, but with my hand position for the front squat, I have the bar resting on my delts and just my finger tips on the bar.

So this where the rhythm (for lack of a more appropriate word) problem comes in. I need to pause to get the bar into my hand and then bend my kness slightly for the push press.

Is there some trick to getting done in one motion (i.e. coming out of the FS straightening the arms with the push press), or is it just a matter of needing Olympic lifter flexibilty to properly grip the bar while it is resting on your delts.

I think you are fine spending the extra second transitioning the hands. Like you said there is really no way to go about it. A proper front squat will have the bar on the delts and a proper push press will have the hands on the bar.

I don't want to speak for anyone else, but thats the only way I can really see it working.

Werd. Even after heavy cleans, most o-lifters take a second to readjust the bar before pushing it up. Your elbows point downward before the OH movement, not so during the clean so you need to readjust.

That helps to clarify it a bit more.

Thanks GQ,

Just got this this post. I think I spoke with Buk about this in LR. I recall the same answer. Those arm/elbows/hands have to shift to get ready for the push press.
