Red face

I hope somebody can help me. Starting last Monday, I have been experiencing some pain when I try to do squats. I believe the pain is in my hip flexor muscles. In laymen's terms... if you have a pair of jeans on and you stick your hands half way into the pockets, your palms are right over where I experience the pain. I experience the pain when I get to the bottom of my movement and while I'm driving myself up.

The first day I experienced the pain was a really long day at work. I work in the computer field so I sit all day then I have a long commute home. I'm sitting a lot during the day to put it mildly. If I didn't have to use the bathroom, my ass would probably put down roots. Anyway, I'm thinking that the first day I experienced the pain this bad, I was sitting even more than normal and my hip flexors were really tight. I think I might not have warmed up enough and strained myself. My normal warmup is to spend 5-10 minutes on the bike or tredmill then do a warmup set of the particular exercise. For squats, I warm up with 135. I exercise with 155 and I do full squats.

My question is: Is it the hip flexors or somethign else? Am I warming up incorrectly? I researched a stretching routine posted on t-nation and I've just recently started stretching a night before bed. Is there anythign else I should do? I was thinking about a foam roller?
