Welcome, Tyler. You may recall I recently preordered your new rings after messaging with you on your forum. However, this is where I usually hang out. There are a lot of potential ring buyers here. Perhaps you and JP need a forum stategic alliance.

I am very interested in this and would like some feedback once you guys get the new rings. I assume all hardware comes with them (straps and adjusters).
Tyler, Welcome to the club!

Thanks everyone! I will definitely stick around for more discussions.
Newlife, they do come with straps and buckles, which is all you will likely need to mount them.

Good find Brad.
hmmm that'd be a great way to cut down on crowds at the gym. Just put a bar up in front of the door and if a guy can't do one no entre. Shaolin style

After reading the gymnastics thread and seeing Kuri do his assiste muscle-up, I got motivated enough to pre-order my rings. Even if I can't do it, my kids are gonna love it!

It is a shame that my jumping muscle-ups(21 of them) were so un-aspiring

Kaiser is a humble man.
It is funny how we often undervalue our own accomplishments. There may be some things I can do better than you, but I know that there are many that you surpass me on. Aspiring to my level of fitness is not something I would recomend, because you would be regressing in many ways. But if that really is your goal, I suggest you start with a pair of tripple cheesburgers and a Dr. Pepper for lunch today

If that is directed toward me, I use my Garmin Forerunner 301 as my timing device. It has great lap/split capabilities, awesome custom intervals(tabata and on the minute stuff), and a huge memory; I still have workouts from July in its memory. Plus it has a heartrate monitor, and if you are outside, uses the GPS to track speed, distance and pace. It is one of the coolest gadgets I have.

Craig, I am serious. I guess there are different levels of fitness, but I am particularly impressed with your strength and upper body flexibility. You are a bit bigger than I am, but your strength and endurance strength levels (for something like the crossfit workouts) are great. I have to modify each Rx'd workout by bringing down the weight anytime there is a BB exercise involved (I do OK on the bodyweight ones). For example, for Wed's WOD, I used a 45 lb bar because I knew my shoulders didn't have the strength to do the prescribed 95 lber (also, it was my first time trying that). It was still painful to do. So, yes, I aspire to that level of strength, especially as it relates to the reptitive crossfit demands.
In addition, I would have to work up to the triple cheeseburgers as well, but that's a different story.
Great work though - nothing wrong with you and Kuri (and now even Greg (HR): 19 rounds of Cindy! ) being benchmarks for others like me. Someone has to lead....

Well I surprised my self today. I was kicking around the basement cleaning up a few things and decided to raise the rings enough to try a sitting muscle-up. Here's what happened (it's 7.5 MB, modem users beware). I raised them up another four inches and tried a few with my legs under me...a bit tougher but still doable. i have to be careful not to jam my head into the rafter with it that high. I'm both shocked and pumped that I can do them.

You guys are all great to watch.
I can't do anything better than anyone. But I'm working on it!
EDIT: Hey, I just passed 1,300 posts. Is that some kind of milestone?

H_R, that is freakin' AWESOME!!! Those were perfect form. Actually, it looks harder from that position than it does from a standing position. Excellent job!
